General Hotel Info

    Daxton is located in the heart of Birmingham’s cultural center on Old Woodward Avenue. The hotel is also minutes from downtown Birmingham.

    We permit guests of Daxton Hotel and Madam to take pictures and videos on their personal mobile devices. Professional photography and videography of any type is prohibited without written permission from the Marketing department at Daxton.

    Smoking is not allowed inside Daxton or on guestroom balconies.

    Our fifth floor is home to nine residentially inspired suites; slightly larger and more indulgent than our standard suites throughout the hotel. Each is slightly different, so please allow us to walk you through our layouts and availability to ensure we can provide the most comfortable fit.

    In addition to several connecting room scenarios, we do have one fifth floor suite that connects to a 2nd king-bedded room.

    Early on, the owner wanted to put a stuffed unicorn in the lobby. He searched long and hard, and could not find one. He then decided to commission Adrian Landon to build him a golden mechanical horse.

CHECK IN/OUT

    Guests are invited to check-in at 3 p.m. Check-out is at noon.

    Please call the hotel to see about early check-in. Early check-in may be available depending on room occupancy and will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. Early check-in is never guaranteed.

    Absolutely. Head to the front desk and we’d be happy to store your luggage before check-in or after check-out at no charge.

RESERVATIONS

    Please contact the hotel to see about changes. If it’s less than 48 hours prior to your arrival, a change may not be possible.

    If you cancel by 3:00 PM EST and it’s at least 48 hours prior to arrival, you can avoid a one-night cancellation charge.

GUEST SERVICES

    A Daxton Guest Services Ambassador will gladly assist in coordinating an airport pick up by our preferred local private livery provider. Uber & Lyft both operate in the Greater Birmingham area and can pick up and drop off at our front door.

    Valet parking is available for an overnight rate of $40.

    Daxton Hotel reserves the right to modify its policies at any time.

    During the day, metered street parking is available near the hotel, and there are two public parking decks relatively close by. A limited number of non-permit requiring parking spaces are available for overnight parking in the downtown area, and our team can provide suggestions when you’re on property.

    In addition to the happenings Daxton supports and coordinates regularly, downtown Birmingham offers a pedestrian friendly small business district filled with cafes, restaurants and boutiques. It is exceptionally convenient as a relaxed home base to both the multinational corporate offices surrounding  as well the sports, arts, and performance venues of downtown Birmingham itself.     Bags and price lists are an in-room standard. Advising Guest Services and hanging the bag on the guestroom doorknob is all that’s needed.

    • Public spaces: registration desk pathway, service animals are welcome, elevators, accessible guest rooms with 32″ wide doorways, accessible route from public entrance to accessible guest rooms
    • Guestrooms: doors with lever handles, hearing accessible rooms and/or kits, accessible vanities, viewports lowered, convenience power at bedside, wireless charging pad at nightstand
    • Bathrooms: bathroom grab bars, bathtub grab bars, roll-in shower, adjustable shower wand

    Our daily per-room, per-night Hotel Fee of $30 includes:

FOOD AND DINING

    Madam offers lunch daily from 11am-3pm

    Dinner is served from 5pm-10pm Sunday – Thursday and till 11pm Friday and Saturday.

    Our Late Night Bar is open till 11pm Sunday through Wednesday and 12am Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

    Sunday Brunch is served 10am-3pm.

    Many of our local supporters own impressive wine cellars that they choose to enjoy and share the contents of with fellow guests of Madam. Cellaring cross sections of several local private collections expands our wine selections in interesting and unpredictable ways.

PETS

    The Daxton Hotel welcomes all service animals trained to assist their owners during their time at the hotel. Daxton complies with all ADA regulations regarding service animals and Daxton associates are happy to assist our guests with service animals in any way.

    Per ADA guidance, Daxton’s operations policy and Michigan Public Health Code, Daxton associates will inquire as to the animal’s status and their specific training. No animals of any kind, other than identified and confirmed service animals, are allowed in the public spaces of the hotel, per the Michigan Modified Food Code. Unfortunately, “emotional support” animals are not considered service animals.

    Only dogs are permitted and they must be 50 lbs. or less. The max number of dogs a guest may have per room is two (2).

    Daxton Hotel reserves the right to modify its policies at any time.

    A $150.00 fee is required at check-in. We thoroughly clean and sanitize the room after each pet’s departure.

    Yes, a bed, bowl and treat are included as components of the pet fee.

    Yes, within easy walking distance from our front steps. Birmingham is home to a dog run as well, but it does require a permit. Permits are available for purchase, but it obviously requires a little more work than walking out the door.

EVENTS

    It was important to us that the intimacy of the parlors be seamlessly flow outwards to the contemporary grandeur of the salon, and so the great hall between them is impressively scaled in its own right; comfortable both as an arrival experience that sets the tone, or as an elegant reception hall. In its entirety, the lobby level spaces can easily accommodate close to 500 guests on a flow.
